I think that what frustrated many of us progressives was when our President would come to the table and instead of asking for the most he could possibly get from the republicans; our President assumed that by being reasonable and pragmatic, the republicans would respond in kind and that cooler heads would prevail on their side. I sincerely believe that the progressive economic philosophy isn’t unreasonable and it isn’t detrimental to the economic growth or health of our country, so why are the tea party republicans so adamant against them? I also feel the tea party republican position is unhealthy and unreasonable for any economic growth apart from that for the top 1% and we have already seen the disastrous effects of unleashed income inequality on our nation, it isn’t pretty and weakens our country on all levels. In light of all that,I am glad that our President is no longer going to bend over backwards to accommodate the irrational economic policies of the right but I just wish that we hadn’t lost all this time when we could have been perhaps fighting more aggressively for the Made in America bill and the JOBS act.
