Mr. President: The More You Attack Us, The More We’ll Fight Back

Once burned twice shy, these types of idioms exist for a reason and as Mike Lux so eloquently put it, the people who are questioning the need for treaties such as TPP and TPPIP are so not stupid. I have always supported our President, I am a fan even though I wish that there were things that he would have done differently such as the drone program, not pushing for a repeal of the Patriot Act and his appointments of Tim Geithner, Larry Summers and Jacob Lew, well you can’t have everything, but these trade deals have far  too many pros for the corporate community at our expense and they don’t need any more advantages over us and as consumers and taxpayers, you would think that we would come first, but apparently we never do. Quite honestly when you look at the big picture, profits are up and tarifs are down, these corporations don’t need any more help from our President, you know who really needs this type of special attention, the rest of America. Our President should mimic Teddy Roosevelt for a bit and that would be a breath of fresh air in the current dynamic going on between big companies and the little guy; two prime examples are Amazon and Walmart, their behavior as employers is a blight on our scorecard as the world’s vision of the land of opportunity, if our President wants to enhance the lives of the majority of Americans, he can start there. I trust our progressive legislators and activists, they do not sound alarms when there isn’t smoke or fire and our President should be re-examining the treaties language instead of calling them names. I dread the thought of these two treaties becoming a reality.
