Sometimes we need to take a break from the harsh realities in life, sit back and appreciate the good in life through laughter. Our President has delivered on so many things, more importantly he has given us so much laughter at each of the White House Correspondent’s Dinner. His commentary highlights the many accomplishments that have occurred during the Obama administration and brilliantly skewers those who seek to consistently bring him and his presidency down. I particularly enjoyed the part when our President asked Luther the anger translator to join him on stage, that was so very funny particularly when Luther and the President were lampooning our news media over their sensationalist coverage of certain crisis, makes me long for the old days of true investigative journalism and not the competitative ratings war that we endure today. I don’t think that a single silly stone was left unturned; from campaign finance to the now infamous “bucket list”; our President laid out his challenges and his successes in a way that was both entertaining and endearing. I will be so very sad when the day comes that he and his lovely family leave the White House, we were blessed to have had the courage and the good sense to not only elect him to the highest office, but to also re-elect him and I am sure that history will treat him well decades from now. Perhaps that will be the vindication that he will get, though I am not sure if that will be enough to erase all of the hatred that was aimed at him and his family, I hope that it will be enough for them.
