Jon Stewart Is Back On Capitol Hill — And He’s Angry

I feel Jon Stewart’s frustration and anger, I have myself so many times tried to thread the needle of logic within the Republican Party’s mindset and ideology and I come up empty handed. Why did McConnell agree with a similar bill for energy workers from his state, but then refuses the same courtesy to New York’s first responders, especially given the fact they will be forever linked to that fateful day in American history and acted so heroically with little regard to their own safety. Is the Republican Party so callous as to deny heroes vital aid, simply to stick it to our President? They cannot use lack of funds as an excuse, we have the world’s most expensive military in the world, we choose to spend as much as the next ten nations combined on our military budget, if we can do this, we can find the money to pass this bill in permanence to shoulder these brave men and women medical burdens, it is the least we can do as a small way to say thank you for their service. There are times when lip service doesn’t cut it, and this is one of those times. Our first responders not only need this legislation passed, they absolutely deserve it passed and sooner rather than later.

  1. Glad someone with the power to have their voice heard (aka Jon Stewart) is putting pressure on Washington to quit bickering and start passing needed legislation!

    1. Exactly! Thanks for the comment! 😀
