Bernie Sanders is correct, we need a public option, enough with private health insurance companies driven by profit margins, we need to make health care a right and not a privilege. We also need to use our power to convince congress to do something about big pharma, maybe if we funded more public research into medecine, we wouldn’t see lifesaving medicines increase in cost at the tune of 400% like the epi-pen. I hold the Republican Party responsible for all of the glitches in the ACA, instead of putting their constituents and their nation before party, they chose to stand back and do nothing. They could have participated in the legislative process and perhaps made the law stronger and more flexible, we won’t ever know because they didn’t even try. The greed that we see in corporate America and among the wealthy is at an all-time high and societally, nothing good comes from it. Greed distorts one’s moral compass and consequently society itself. We need to figure out a way to get profits out of health care by adjusting our world view as to what the words “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” really mean to us as a nation.
