What the Mylan Epipen Scandal Tells Us About American Capitalism

History provides us with knowledge and examples, the key is not to indulge in nostalgic longing for a better time, but to use history as a tool to push forward with better tools to transform economic models that do not work. What we need is an engaged politically activist citizenry, I wish the Epipen extortionistic example would be the straw that broke the camel’s back, the straw that forced everyone to the polls, to the streets and got something done to rein in our laissez faire capitalistic system. It is overwhelming, the breadth of things needed to change, Citizens United, our corporate tax code, the incestuous relationship between congress and lobbyists, it all boils down the excess greed and money. We, the 99%, only have our vote, our voice, we need to use it and use it wisely.
