Extreme Weather Costs Taxpayers Billions Every Year

It is time to put climate change denial to bed and come together with a bold plan of action, in keeping with the Paris Climate agreement, and even going beyond that commitment. We are paying for it either way, but we have the capacity to choose how we pay for it. Do we really want to pay for climate change devastation after the fact when people have been forced to suffer catastrophic events or do we want to pay for it in a proactive manner, by investing in green, sustainable, carbon sequestering and carbon reducing energy sources? Climate change is here to stay, it is our responsibility to deal with it as mature, rational adults if only for the sake of our children and our children’s children. This goes beyond money or debt, money and debt are man made constructs, we have only one planet, we can’t make another so it is up to us to take care of it.
